Allstate Announces April 2019 Catastrophe Loss Estimate

NORTHBROOK, Ill., May 16, 2019 – The Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL) today announced estimated catastrophe losses for the month of April 2019 of $290 million, pre-tax ($229 million, after-tax). Catastrophe losses occurring in April comprised seven events at an estimated cost of $259 million, pre-tax ($205 million, after-tax), plus unfavorable reserve reestimates of prior period catastrophe losses. Two wind/hail events, primarily impacting Texas, accounted for approximately 70% of April event catastrophe losses.
